Dr. Feifei Yang is an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Connecticut and a Senior Data Scientist at Plymouth Rock Assurance. She received her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Master of Science degree in Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Connecticut. She also got another master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at Dalian University of Technology.  She specializes in using machine learning for the prediction of electrical outages from severe and extreme weather events in distribution and transmission systems. Her other research interests include, but are not limited to, wildfire ignition prediction, electric grid vulnerability, and climate change analysis.
