Peter Watson

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Civil & Environmental Engineering

Dr. Peter Watson is a researcher that applies machine learning and data science to quantify the impacts of weather events. He got his PhD from UConn in 2022 in Environmental Engineering, and has a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Chicago (2006).   His research interests are working with high resolution weather simulations, applying machine-learning to extract meaning, and connecting that understanding of weather to the impacts it can have on infrastructure, including quantifying the implications for infrastructure resilience.
